Erica Legaspi brings home a silver medal

WAC rugby player’s SEA games success

WAC rugby player Erica Legaspi won a silver medal at December’s Southeast Asian Games as part of the Philippines national team. A historic win for the team, the Philippines scored on Thailand for the first time ever. Prior to the games, Erica trained with the team and was selected to compete, making her debut on the international stage. She hopes to return to the Philippines again next year to compete in 7s or 15s. Until then, Erica will play in Seattle, representing the Saracens in 15s and the WAC in 7s. “I’m honored to have been able to wear the Philippine jersey,” Erica says. “Rugby is the ultimate sport for making bonds off the pitch, so I am very motivated to come back for more and represent the Philippines with my new family.”
